I am trying to get some type of California license that will let the business I work for purchase work vehicles at a wholesale price. Also, so that we can go to car auctions. I have found the different licenses on the DMV website but I do not know what kind of license this would require. Please help!

you would need a dealer license , to be able to resale it.
In most states, you need a dealer’s license to be able to purchase cars and trucks at auction, the same with purchasing vehicles from a manufacturer. Dealer’s licenses are different from driver’s licenses or what you’ll find on the DMV website. They’re more like a specific type of business license. Contact your state or county business office or tax commission office and they should be able to steer you in the right direction. It would be the same office where you go to apply for a business license.
