I sold a vehicle almost 5 years ago. It has been recently towed and placed in storage until auctioned. The person in which I sold the vehicle to, never transferred or registered the vehicle in his name.

I can’t find the Bill of Sale that I had. It has been a little bit of time since I sold the vehicle. I signed the title and dated it.

Other than an a reply to an e-mail that I sent the guy who bought, cause I didn’t have his phone number and had to go through a bunch of friends just to get his e-mail address, is there anything I can do to avoid the lien on my license.

In the e-mail reply back, he admitted that he bought the car, and over a year and a half ago and resold the car.

Would bringing him to small claims court, or going down to the police and showing them what I have currently be enough proof to get the responsibility of the car lifted from me and passed on to the proper party?

He says he has a bill of sale for when he sold the car, but he doesn’t seem to be to eager on faxing me a copy of it.

Shortly after selling the car, within a year, it had been marked as a code enforcement violation, he had claimed responsibility for the car then. Would that also be something to use as well?

Just trying to find the right and easiest course of action to take. Trying to avoid anything which is going to be costly on me, and avoid paying for tow/storage fees for the car which is going to be auctioned shortly.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

We were looking at buying a car auctioning for no pay on a storage facility. What would occur if we bought it to find out it was a stolen vehicle? Would it be repossessed? Would it be rightfully ours after paying in full?
What happens in such situations?

Looking for a newer car at a cheap rate. Was told that going to government auctions or banks for repossessed vehicles is the best way to go. Is this risky and would i be getting a quality / reliable vehicle?

i am looking to get a real steal. i know cars very well and can fix most things, except maybe rebuilding an engine. with a combination of my mechanical aptitude and a place to buy a good deal, i would think i would be able to swing a real bargain somehow. i am mostly looking for a 1986 to 1995 jeep cherokee, unless i find an amazing deal on something else. i just don’t know where the best place to get my deal from, do you?

My vehicle was repossesed almost a year ago now. After them selling the vehicle in the auction, I have a balance of $3228.20. Am I obligated for this balance? Some lawyer agency keeps calling and threatening suit. What can I do to get out of this, if possible?

I’ve been trying to sell in the market for 3 month now and still no one is interested. What will happen next? I know that they would auction off the car but am I responsible for the deficiency? if they do come after me, should I file for bankruptcy? thank you.

I bought the vehicle cheap at an auction. Everything is in peak condition, but one detail nags at me.The dashboard display showing what gear I’m in is off by one. When I’m on ‘N’ the car is actually in reverse, when I’m on ‘D’ it’s really neutral. ‘3′ is drive, etc… ANY information is appreciated, what causes this? Is it expensive to fix?(ballpark estimate) Will it become a problem if driven without remedy? I just want to know if it is a big deal or not.
