by admin on September 28, 2009

I recently bought a used 2003 Chevy Impala from a dealership. After a week It started giving a problems…. I took it back so they could run a diagnostics on it and I noticed that the mechanic was inputing information that didnt apply to my vehicle…. So I thought If maybe there was somehow they could have change the motor/engine when they got the car from an auction

It used to be that the Vehicle Identification Number, and The Engine Identification Number were two separate things. But, judging from your other answers here, maybe things have changed. You should check a shop manual, or even a Haynes or Chilton’s manual should tell you about vehicle numbering systems.
